August 16-20

What a fantastic start to this year!  We are going to dig right in this week and start focusing on our standards.  I will be posting the objectives each week on this blog so you will know what we are working on in class.  If you have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to email me.

This week:

**Books:  Mrs. Katz and Tush.     The Crane Girl

-Analyze relationships and conflicts between characters.

-Identify and understand Point of View

-Identify the Genre of a book and its qualifying characteristics

-Open and Closed multi-syllable words

-Vocabulary:  empathy, inscription, canopy, trunk, scrawny, descendents, record player, speckled, pluck, merchant, marshes, loom, stubble, weave

-What is Poetry?

If your student hasn’t returned the blue card, discipline/PG form, or $10 for the planner, please be sure to do so ASAP.
